Mary Frances Whisnant Turner

(May 9, 1928 - March 3, 2013)

Gaffney, SC - - Mary Frances Whisnant Turner, 84, of 136 Pinecrest Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2013 at her residence. Born in Gastonia, NC, she was the widow of the late Jesse Leroy Turner and was the daughter of the late Ray and Rebecca Thorne Whisnant. Mrs. Turner retired from Stouffers, loved to read, loved gospel music, especially the Gaithers, and was a member of Love Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Billy Wayne Whisnant and wife, Judy, of Shelby, NC and Jesse Leroy Turner, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Kathy Ann Turner Mabry of Glendale and Myra Jeannine Batease and husband, Henry of Gaffney; a brother, Fred Whisnant of Cherokee Falls; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Whisnant and a sister, Helen Gossett. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Cox and Rev. James Price officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 N.
