Doris Kaye Harner

LUBBOCK - Doris Kaye Harner, 70, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on December 25, 2012. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, at The Worship Center, 12701 Indiana Ave. Doors will open at 9:30 delivery of flowers. She gave with her heart as she donated her body to science. Doris was a lifelong resident of Lubbock, doing what she loved, waitressing. Oh, the many people she met along the way. Doris's family would like to thank hospice and her doctors at UMC. She was preceded in death by her sister, Laura, and her parents, Opel and Juanita Whisenhunt. She is survived by a daughter, DeAnna McCann; a son, Michael McCann; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Leon; and four sisters, Alice, Judy, Shirley, and Chris.
