Boyce S. Whisenant

COLUMBIA Boyce S. Whisenant, 68, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his home with his loving wife of almost 46 years by his side. Boyce was born July 26, 1944, in Columbia, to the late James Theodore "Red" Whisenant and Ethel Rast Whisenant. Having been born and raised on the Olympia Mill Hill, he loved being a family man. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, had retired after many long years of driving for Estes Express Lines, and was a diehard Gamecock fan. He was predeceased by his brothers, J.W., Aubrey and Olin Whisenant; and sisters, Sherry Suggs, Ruth Hammond and her husband, Wade Hammond, and Dorothy Williams. Boyce leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jeanette Hammond Whisenant; his son, Boyce "Scott" Whisenant Jr. and daughter-in-law, Candy; his daughter, Angela Whisenant Parker and son-in-law, Jerry Parker; his grandkids born to Scott and Candy, Katie Nicole Whisenant and Boyce Scott "Trey" Whisenant III. He also leaves behind two brothers, Troy and Ray Whisenant and their families. There will not be any memorial service per Boyce's wishes. Visitors are welcome to drop in at his home to visit the family. Memorials may be sent to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Gift of Life Program in Boyce's name.
