Reva was born August 25, 1922 in Ater, Texas as one of 7 children to the late Hill & Lilly Coleman Murry. She was raised and attended school in Levita, Texas and graduated from High School in Ireland, Texas. She worked at Meeks Café in Gatesville, Texas for a time, but her true life's calling was one of wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She married Lawrence W. Whisenhunt June 16, 1945 and was married 44 years before The Lord called Lawrence home in 1989. They built a loving home and life wherever they lived. They lived in Denver, Colorado when Lawrence was in the
Army-Air Force, then moved back to Coryell county in Texas to farm the land for awhile, before moving to several different Air Force base cities in Texas and Oklahoma when Lawrence worked for Civil Service. They retired in Big Spring, Texas, but after the passing of Lawrence, Reva moved back to Gatesville, Texas to live & serve family & friends for many more years before moving to Mesquite the last 5 years of her life. She attended, served in, & was a member of Baptist churches (depending on the city she was living in at the time) and found a special pleasure in teaching Sunday School to small children. She also could be called on any time to prepare food to meet any need from the church family or others. Her membership was with First Baptist Church of Gatesville, Texas at the time of her death. She found fulfillment and joy in helping others and in being with family. She loved traveling, camping, cooking, and helping to make others happy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Whisenhunt: 3 sisters, Ruby Rogers, Maurine Adams, and Robbie Cox; and 3 brothers, Bill, Talbert, and Bobby (Sonny) Murry.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ken and Linda Blackington of Mesquite, Texas, a grandson and daughter-in-law Rick & Toni Blackington of Marble Falls, Texas , a granddaughter and son-in-law Dalton & Christy Humphreys of Fate, Texas, 5 Great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She had true humility, a sweet smile, and gentle touch, which will be missed greatly, but never forgotten! She was truly a woman that lived as the Bible describes the "Proverbs 31" woman, and now is receiving her Heavenly rewards and rest.
