Mildred "Dollie" Whisenant

1917-2013

Charlotte- Mildred "Dollie" Whisenant Black, 95, of Charlotte died Monday May 27, 2013. Funeral Services for Mrs. Black will be held Wednesday, May 29th at 3PM at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church, 7400 Mt Holly Rd., Charlotte, with Reverend Gary Bryant officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Dollie was born November 11, 1917 in Danville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Daisy Whisenant. She graduated from Paw Creek High School and retired from Duke Power Company where she had a long time career. Dollie was active in Paw Creek Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed being part of the Presbyterian Women.

She is survived by her daughter Becky Black and her sister Dorothy Lybrand. Her husband of 65 years, Kenneth A. Black, five sister and five brothers preceded her in death.
