Dorothy B. Williams

SOUTH CONGAREE - Funeral service for Dorothy B. Williams, 82, of South Congaree, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Johnson. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.

Mrs. Williams, widow of Jack Carroll Williams, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Born in Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late James Theodore Whisennant and Ethel Adreana Rast Whisennant. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed gospel music and reading her Bible. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Chapman of Chapin, and Rhonda Laird of Gaston; sons, Larry E. Williams of West Columbia, and Tracy L. Williams of Lexington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Troy E. Whisennant of Lexington, Boyce S. Whisennant of Columbia, and Ray L. Whisennant of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
