Larry D. Whisenant, Sr.

Mr. Larry D. Whisenant, Sr., age 69 of Gardendale, formerly of Troy, passed away July 7, 2013. Mr. Whisenant is survived by sons Dale (Jennifer) Whisenant Jr., Robert (Lisa) Bond, Jonaton Brown; daughters Denise Whisenant Morgan, Darla & Rick Higginbotham, Tricia & Jim Dickie, Blanca & Frank Bishop, Angella & Adrian Service; brother Bill & Michelle Bishop, 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is predeceased by father Carlos Whisenant, mother Alice Irene Hyde Bishop, daughter Debra Lee Whisenant, three sisters and a brother.

Mr. Whisenant was retired as a administrative defense contractor with Sykorsky. He had proudly served his country in the Navy and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, and delighted everyone with watching TV without sound. He also was an avid gun collector.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Mark Ewell will conduct the service.
