Larry Whisenhunt

BONHAM - Funeral services for Larry David Whisenhunt, 77, of Bonham will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Rev. Gene Own and Rev. Brandon Dona will officiate the service; interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery with military honors rendered by United States Navy Honor Guard. Mr. Whisenhunt went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Community Living Center in Bonham.

Larry David Whisenhunt was born June 28, 1936 in Ravenna, Texas to David and Georgie (Workman) Whisenhunt. He married Anna Mary (Moskaluk) Whisenhunt in July 7, 1957 in Woonsocket, R.I.; she preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 2010. Larry was a graduate of Bonham High School, served his country for four years in the United States Navy, and worked and retired from General Cable Company in Bonham, and was also a member of Central Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Colley; and grandchildren, Austin, Loren, and Brian Colley all of Bonham. Also surviving him are sister, Ella Q. Reamer and husband John of Ravenna; and brothers, Mike Whisenhunt and wife Linda of Bonham, and Phil Whisenhunt and wife Charla of Ravenna, along with many extended family members residing in Rhode Island.

Larry was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Whisenhunt Jacobs, son David Whisenhunt; brother, J.T Whisenhunt; nieces, Jennifer Whisenhunt and Holly Whisenhunt; and nephew, David Craig Reamer.

Family visitation will be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at Cooper-Sorrells funeral Home in Bonham.
