Merle Allen Whisenhunt

Services for Merle Allen Whisenhunt, 70, Enid, will be held at Victory Bible Church under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

Merle was born on January 25, 1943 in Gate, Oklahoma, the son of Roy O. and Florence Irene Berends Whisenhunt, and passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, October 18, 2013. He was raised a quaker in Gate, member of Friends Church. Merle graduated from Englewood High School in Englewood, Kansas with the class of 1961. He attended one year of college and worked as a Welder by trade. Merle married Faith Alice Nellis in San Antonio, Texas on June 7, 1975. They moved to Enid i n1976 where he worked as a machinist for Speedstar for several years. Merle was a member of Victory Bible Church. Survivors include his wife, Faith of the residence; son, Roy Whisenhunt of Enid; daughters, Anita Leonarrd of Meadville, Mississippi, Rebeccca and Hope Whisenhunt, both of Enid; brother, Roy Whisenhunt of Englewood, Kansas; sisters, Edna Ringwald of Bucklin, Kansas, Bernice Bogle of Oklahoma City and Nancy Walters of San Angelo, Texas. Merle was preceded in passing by his parents, and one sister, Ilene.
