Rosa Mildred Whisenhunt

Rosa M. Whisenhunt, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born February 27, 1933 in Harrisonville, Arkansas to Elmer Arnold and Nettie McClura Matthews Arnold. In October 1950, she married the love of her life, Curtis Dee Whisenhunt.

Rosa is survived by husband, Curtis Dee Whisenhunt; son, Randall Dee Whisenhunt (Phyllis) of Checotah; special daughter, Kathy Woods (Mike) of Muskogee; grandsons, Brian Dee Whisenhunt, Donald “Bubby” Hill, Ricky Hill, all of Checotah, Raymond Hill of Tulsa; granddaughters, Beckie Hamm of Checotah and Kandie Kelley (Michael) of Mustang; great grandsons, Cody Mooney (Whitney) of Muskogee, Colton Mooney of Checotah, Gabe Martin of Mustang, Seven Dee Whisenhunt of Checotah, Dakota Hill of Tulsa; great granddaughters, Ashleigh Martin of Mustang, Taylor Martin of Mustang, Sierra Dawn Whisenhunt of Checotah, Lindsey Hill of Checotah; great great grandson, Noah Hill of Checotah. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Arnold.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Rosa Mildred Whisenhunt will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Mission Outreach Full Gospel Church in Checotah with Wayne Beshears, Tim Whisenhunt and Tony Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Triplett Cemetery with Charlie Walls, Larry Arnold, Doug Madewell, Mike Woods, Michael Kelley, Andy Shields and Bob Brinsfield serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cody Mooney, Colton Mooney, Ashleigh Martin, Seven Whisenhunt, Gabe Martin, Sierra Whisenhunt and Taylor Martin.

The family has entrusted Checotah Funeral Service with the arrangements.
