Winfred Earnest Whisenant
Winfred Earnest Whisenant, 82, of Dalton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Lerch; great-granddaughter, Allison Lerch; parents, Sam and Cecil Whisenant; and three brothers, Melford, D.L and J.C. Whisenant.
Mr. Whisenant was a member of the Cohutta Masonic Lodge No. 64 F&AM.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Minnie Ruth Whisenant of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Nieves Whisenant, and Steve and Anne Whisenant, all of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Joy and David Cockburn of Cohutta, and Lucy Ramsey of Nashville, Tenn., brothers and sister-in-law, Sam Jr. and Glenda Whisenant, and Virgil Whisenant, all of Cohutta, and Calvin Whisenant of Dalton; grandchildren, Kenneth Michael and Brandon Whisenant, Adam Lerch, Amanda (Lerch) Slatton, Alecia Lerch, Andy Whisenant and Whitney Broome Wells; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Lillian Whisenant, Madilyn Lerch, Ryan and Alex Slatton, Jaelyn Marsh, and Kayden and Graham Wells; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Whisenant will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Dale Kidd officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Cohutta Masonic Lodge No. 64 F&AM in charge of Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
