Noel D. Whisenant

Noel D. Whisenant of Birmingham, formerly of Gallant, passed away on March 13, 2014. Survivors include brothers, Cecil B. Whisenant of Gallant and Larry G. Whisenant of Gadsden. Noel was a 1966 graduate of Etowah High School and a 1971 graduate of Auburn University. A devout Christian, he was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and served as a substitute Sunday School Teacher. Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Gallant on Sunday March 16, 2014 at 3 P.M. Interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Tom Brown of First Baptist Church of Gallant and Rev. Charlie Dale of Indian Springs Baptist Church of Birmingham will officiate. The family will accept friends during a lie-in-state at the church on Sunday from 2 to 3 P.M. Pallbearers will be from his countless circle of friends which knew no end. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gallant Cemetery Fund c/o Ronnie Battles 4445 Gallant Road Attalla AL 35954.
