Palmer L. Whisenant

MOORE, SC-- Palmer Leon Whisenant, 54, of 315 Wilkshire Loop passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014. He was the husband of Pennie Jean Vandever Whisenant of the home and the son of the late Clyde F. and Nancy Lou Beacham Whisenant. He was a member of Reidville Road United Methodist Church, an under graduate of Bachelors in history and Political Science at Duke University, and had earned a law degree from Vanderbilt University. He was an attorney at Cryovac for 20 years. Palmer enjoyed time spent with his family and organized many memorable vacations, especially trips to Disney world. He had a passion for steam trains and Civil War history.

Survivors also include a son, Jefferson Palmer Whisenant; a daughter, Amanda Jean Whisenant; a brother, Clyde J. Whisenant and wife Sarah; three nieces and nephews, Crystal, Coty and C.J. Whisenant.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Reidville Road United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Willey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Stribling Funeral Home.
