Betty Whisnant

SHELBY-Betty Jean Kiser Whisnant, 82, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Junie Collins Kiser. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she loved her Friendship Sunday school class. She was a loving mother who loved her family and church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband, Forrest "Jr." Whisnant; sister, Hazel Allen; brothers, Ralph Jr., Lloyd and Bill Kiser.
She is survived by; her two sons, Ronnie C. Whisnant and wife Cynthia of Shelby and Rusty Whisnant and wife Jane of Gaffney; sister, Shirley Kiser Strickland; and brother, Ben Kiser, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Justin Whisnant and wife Samantha, and Josh Whisnant, all of Gaffney, S.C.; great-grandson, Tanner Whisnant; great-grandson on the way, Jaxon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 22 from 12:30-2 p.m., at the church.

Funeral Services: Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Buiral. Burial in Sunset Cemetery.
