Bonnie Ruth Whisenant Sharpe

Bonnie Whisenant Sharpe, age 67, of Sharpe Place, Lenoir, went to be with our Lord Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the residence, with her family by her side. She was born September 26, 1946 in Caldwell County to the late Henry R. Whisenant and Annie Crump Whisenant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Sharpe; brother, Billy Ray Whisenant; and grandchild, Jessica Mitchell.

Mrs. Sharpe was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Jody M. Sharpe of Lenoir; three daughters, Angie Sharpe, Melissa Philyaw and husband David, Jerri Marie Mitchell and husband Brad, all of Lenoir; brothers, Bud Whisenant and wife Ann of Lenoir, Archie R. Whisenant and wife Barbara and L. Johnny Whisenant, both of Patterson and Leroy Whisenant and wife Donna of Virginia; two sisters, Dorothy Hayworth of Oak Hill and Coleen Whisenant of Patterson; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jim Whisenant. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
