Carolyn Whisnant Schumacher
Carolyn Whisnant Schumacher, 76, of Weaver Rd, died Saturday, May 31 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem after declining health of ten months.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Wednesday, June 3 at Center United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Steven Pillsbury.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Mrs. Schumacher was born September 28, 1937 in Davidson County to Ira “Ike” Whisnant and Beadie Mae Crowell Whisnant. She was a former employee of Lexington Telephone Co. and was a member of Center United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, humanitarian, and friend to all. Her brother, Richard Whisnant, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Ashly Burkhart and Phillip Beeker (Tricia), both of Lexington; her grandchildren, Ashton Burkhart, Merritt Beeker, Paxton Beeker, and Brennan Beeker; her sister in law, Pat Whisnant of Winston Salem; her niece, Cammie Dunaway of California; her nephew, Byron Whisnant of Chapel Hill; her great nephew, Davis Dunaway; and her special friend, Pepper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
