Ethel McCarley Whisenant

Ethel Whisenant, age 85, of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at her residence.

Burial in Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg.

Mrs. Whisenant was born December 17, 1922 in Franklin County, Alabama to the late Ulysses Grant and Bertha Mae Lindsey McCarley. She was the widow of Virdie Whisenant and a retired Machine Operator at Wrangler.

She is survived by 2 sons, Hugh Don Whisenant, and Doyle Whisenant; 1 daughter, Tammy Whisenant McGinnis; 8 grandchildren, Tony Whisenant, Shawona Frederick, Susan Jordan, Crystal Posey, Jennifer Whisenant, Tara Whisenant, Jessica Whisenant, and Justin Whisenant; 8 great-great grandchildren, Alexis Frederick, Shelby Jordan, Brandi & Gia Posey, Haley & Peyton Whisenant, Laken Frederick, & Anthony Whisenant; 2 brothers, Girlie and & Dalton McCarley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses Grant and Bertha Mae Lindsey McCarley; her husband, Virdie Whisenant; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
