Doris Ann Roberts

Wasilla resident Doris Ann Roberts, 61, passed away April 22, 2010 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage due to heart failure. A funeral for Doris will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.,. at Valley Funeral Home, Palmer Chapel at 2020 N. Hemmer Road. Pastor Steve Alexander will officiate. Interment will follow the service in procession to the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.

Doris was born Feb. 25, 1949 in Glenwood, Ark., to Helen and Ruben Whisenhunt. In 1969, she moved to Alaska, living in Trapper Creek for years before moving to Wasilla. Doris was a member of the Word of Faith Assembly and loved attending her church and prayer group.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diana Roberts of Seattle, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Toni Roberts of Palmer; sons, Chris Roberts and Shawn Roberts of Wasilla; daughter, Julie Roberts; granddaughters, Autumn Kelly of Wasilla; Janae Roberts and Brandalynn Roberts of Palmer and grandson, Ryan Roberts of Palmer.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla.
