Troy Lee Whisenhunt

Troy Lee Whisenhunt, 58, of Gatesville, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. Visitation will be at 2 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Jonesboro Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Turnersville Cemetery.

Troy Lee was born in Gatesville, Texas, to Troy Davis Whisenhunt and Martha "Pearl" Barnett Whisenhunt, the youngest of three children. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1975. After high school, Troy ran a shearing crew for over 20 years. He also farmed and ranched, as well as worked for the Hamilton Commission Company. He took great pride in his three sons, Troy Lynn, Kevin Thomas, and Nicolas P.W. Whisenhunt. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising show sheep. In his younger years, he enjoyed volleyball and basketball.

He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Mandy Michelle Whisenhunt; and a nephew, James Mark Baize.

Troy Lee is survived by his mother; three sons and their wives; two sisters; four grandchildren; one niece; multiple nephews; and many friends.
