Tomie Lee Whiseant

November 22, 1923 - April 26, 2015

Tomie Lee Whiseant, 91, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at a local hospital.

Mr. Whiseant was born November 22, 1923 in Honey Grove, Texas. He was retired from Christus St. Michael Hospital and was a member of Landmark Pentecostal Church. He was a purple heart and bronze star recipient and a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita on February 28, 2004. Survivors include one son and daughter in-law, Mike and Debbie Whisenant of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters and one son in-law, Renee and Danny Valentine of Texarkana, Arkansas and Shirley Boyette of DeQueen, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters in-law, Clyde and Alice Whiseant and Herbert and Mary Whiseant of Texarkana, Texas; one sister and brother in-law, Mary and Lee Killingsworth of Alamagordo, New Mexico; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Landmark Pentecostal Church, Texarkana, Texas with Pastor Jason Calhoun and Pastor Bobby Edwards officiating. Burial will be at East Memorial Gardens with military rites under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
