M. June Whisenand

ELMWOOD - M. June Whisenand, 91, of Elmwood passed away at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.

She was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Augusta, Wis., to Silas and Alta (Abbott) Fleisher. June married Donald Whisenand on Feb. 11, 1943, in Missouri. He died June 18, 1968.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; son-in-law, Jim Dolan; and two brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Dolan of Yates City and Donna (Ronald) Boyer of Trivoli; two granddaughters, Lee Ann (Ryan) Hinthorne of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Sara (Justin) Hanlin of Trivoli; five step-grandchildren, Jim Dolan, Cathy Frangipane, Mike Dolan, Julie Boyer and Bart Boyer; and 14 great-grandchildren, Hailee, Ashlee, Madilyn, Ryan, Claire, Garett, Cameron, Morgan, Chris, Kelsey, Jeff, Hunter, Gianna and Nick.

June retired from Schissler Seed Company and also farmed with her husband.

She was a member of the Farmington Rebekah Lodge 155 and the Cramer Community Club.

June's favorite activity was anything that involved her family. She also loved crafting of all kinds, especially China painting, antiquing and playing cards.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Krey Leesman will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.
