Dorothy Whisnant Clark

Dorothy Whisnant Clark, 85, of Altavista, VA passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jack Wade Clark for forty years in Memphis, TN. She was born March 6, 1930 in Carroll County, Mississippi and a daughter of the late George Houston Whisnant and Mildred Doster Whisnant.

She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Altavista. Dorothy loved flowers and her dog “Baby” and had been very happy in Altavista. She was a retired employee of General Motors with over forty years’ service.

She is survived by two step-sons, Jay Clark and his wife Judy of Greenville, SC and Johnny Clark and his wife Jeri of Marietta, GA; three sisters, Katie Carrigan of Altavista, Alita DeBerry of Nesbit, MS, and Linda Whisnant of Asuncion, Paraguay; loving sisters- in-law, Madge Holt and Linda Sain; and a number of step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Whisnant.

There will be a visitation on Monday, May 25 from 3 - 5 p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 26 at 10 a.m. Both will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
