Billy Wayne Whisnant

Billy Wayne Whisnant, 66, of 3115 Yates Rd., Shelby, passed away Tuesday May 26, 2015 at home.

Born April 24, 1948 in Cherokee County, SC, he was the step-son of the late Jesse Turner and Mary Whisnant Turner. He was retired from H&H Pest Control and was a member of Way of the Cross Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Judy Ann Hamrick Whisnant; son, Billy Joseph Whisnant of Shelby; daughter, Christy Clay and husband Steve of Shelby; stepbrother, Jesse Leroy Turner of Spartanburg; two stepsisters, Kathy Turner Mabry of Spartanburg and Jeannie Batease of Gaffney; and four grandchildren, Steven Clay, Samantha Clay, Elliott Whisnant and Parker Whisnant.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

The funeral will held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel with the Pastor Keith Webb officiating. The burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
