Mable Dee Shoup Whisnant
Mable Dee Shoup Whisnant, age 81, of Old Shelby Road, Vale, NC died Saturday, May 30, 2015.
Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Freida Hobson and Rev. R.A. Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whisnant was born on May 10, 1934 in Burke County and was the daughter of the late Marvin Estes and Viola Hipps Shoup. She was also preceded in death by her infant sons, R.J. Whisnant, Jr. and Ronnie Whisnant, two sisters, Mary Lee Shoup and Dorothy Gross and one grandson, Benjamin White. Mrs. Whisnant was retired from the furniture industry.
Survivors are her husband, R. J. Whisnant of the home; one daughter, Brenda W. White and husband, Wayne of Vale; one brother, James Marvin Shoup and wife, Yolanda of Hickory; two sisters, Ruth Inez Wellman and husband, Ed of Vale and Patsy Cline of Hudson; three grandsons, Philip White and wife, Brandy of Vale, Boone White of Winston-Salem and Tyler White and wife, Kelli of Iron Station; one great-granddaughter, Rachel White of Vale.
The family would like to thank Amanda Setzer, Jessica Hudson, Rosa Payne and Linda Woodruff for the care they gave to Mrs. Whisnant.
