Emilye Whisenant

A memorial service for Mrs. Emilye LaMar Hurst Whisenant will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Mrs. Whisenant, 73, died Thursday, June 4, 2015. She was born Nov. 11, 1941, and was a daughter of the late Mary Sprouse Hurst and Arthur D. Hurst. She was raised in Chester and was part of a group of friends from Chester called the Girls of Summer.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Whisenant; a son, Charles A. Jerol III; stepdaughters, Patricia W. Hill and Kelly W. Eldridge; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Los Ninos Primero Inc., the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church Music Fund or the charity of one's choice .
Sandy Springs Chapel of Sandy Springs, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
