Steve Whisnant

Steve “Frog” Whisnant, 54, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

Steve was born September 12, 1960 in Burke County to the late Levi Whisnant and Martha Jane Powell Whisnant.

He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. Steve was a devoted husband and father that loved his wife more than life itself. He dearly loved the outdoors and to work in his garden and flowers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Whisnant; brothers, Kevin, Arnold, Levi and Junior Whisnant; and sister-in-law Ronda.

Steve is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hullette Whisnant; daughters, Tonya Whisnant and her fiancée, Michael Masters and Robin Whisnant both of Morganton; brothers, Jerry and wife, Debra, David and wife, Shelia, Michael and wife, Ellen all of Morganton; sisters, Patricia Whisnant of Morganton, Geraldine Fox and husband, Derryl of Nebo, Connie Padgett and husband, Darrell of Glen Alpine, and Annie Arnett and husband, Ronnie of Morganton; grandchildren, Brittney Mode, Kalee Mode, Gavin Baker, and Landon Baker and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at Calvary Assembly of God with the Rev. Mike Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
