Dorothy Fields

Dorothy Fields, 73, of Alto died Monday at her residence following an extended illness.

A native of Jackson County, she had lived in Banks County a number of years. She was a retired poultry worker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Waymon Fields, Alto; sons, Ricky D. Frazier, Richard Junior Frazier and Ronald Frazier, all of Alto; sisters, Genevia Teal and Edna Arrowwood, both of Gillsville; brothers, Frazier Whisnant, Lula, and Hershal Whisnant, Florida; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The Rev. Steven Whisnant will officiate. Burial will be in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
