Erma Mae Whisenhunt Allen

Erma Mae Whisenhunt Allen, 83, of Barling entered into rest Sunday, June 8, 2008, in Fort Smith. She was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Deleon, Texas, the daughter of the late Lee and Emma Rochester. Erma was a retired doctor?s assistant, a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Fort Smith, a volunteer for the Don Reynolds Cancer Support House and the Alzheimer?s Association. She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Bill Whisenhunt, and her second husband, Bill Allen.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn McCaslin and husband, Robert of Fort Smith and Connie Nixon and husband, Elmer of Heavener; five grandchildren, Brenda Ware of Ada, Okla., Karen Gilmartin of Owasso, Okla., Laura Sutton of Fort Worth, Melissa Scarbrough of Houston, and Tamara Sanders of Shreveport, La.; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener.
Pallbearers will be Harold Ware, Jim Gilmartin, James Gilmartin, Glen Sutton, Carl Scarbrough and Russell Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Ware, Ryan Gilmartin, Joel Scarbrough, Will Scarbrough, Ethan Sanders and Mason Sutton.
Family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m.
