Hubert Whisnant

CORNELIUS - Mr. Hubert Edmond Whisnant, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at home.

Born March 25, 1934, in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Hubert and Annie Whisnant. He was a wildlife artist, inventor and president of Mobilite Exhibit Systems in Charlotte.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Whisnant and Carroll Whisnant.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Spurlin Whisnant; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Robert Forester of Salisbury and Dawn and Norman Simms of Cornelius; a son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Marcia Whisnant of Shelby; six grandchildren, Clay Mitchell, David Mitchell, Nicholas Whisnant, Blake Whisnant, Brad Simms and Missy Simms; three brothers, Charles Whisnant, Robert Whisnant and Donald Whisnant; and a sister, Nell Willis.
