Vicie Whisnant

SHELBY - Mrs. Vicie B. Whisnant, 95, of 709 Skinner Road, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Durham Sexton Bridges and E. Angeline Blanton. She was a retired licensed practical nurse who did private duty at Crawley Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and Cleveland Community College. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she was in Dorcus Sunday school class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn P. Whisnant; two sisters, Quay Bridges Gilly and Gar Bridges Ledbetter; and five brothers, Von Bridges, Robert Bridges, Hal Bridges, Ray Bridges and Gail Bridges.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Bridges of Boiling Springs; and nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Cleveland Funeral Services with the Rev. Terry Cagle officiating.

Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
