Catherine Whisnant

July 26, 1918 — March 3, 2008

WAXHAW — Mrs. Catherine Crowley Whisnant, 89, formerly of Lawndale, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Park Village Rehab and Health Center.

A native of Cork City, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Michael Crowley and Margaret Calahan Crowley. Mrs. Whisnant was a homemaker and retired as owner and operator of Whisnant Grocery.

In addition to her parents, husband, Woodrow Wilson Whisnant; daughter, Margaret Whisnant, brothers, Michael Crowley Jr. and Maurice Crowley, sister, Betty Murray preceded her in death.

She is survived by son, Woodrow "Woody" Whisnant Jr. and wife, Dianne, of Shelby; daughter, Susan Pritchard and husband, Dick, of Waxhaw; sister, Hannah C. Campbell of British Columbia, Canada; five grandchildren, Kyle Pritchard, Marcus Whisnant, Lukus Whisnant, Kathryn and Tom Bernau and Sheila Whisnant; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Whisnant and Will Bernau.
