Robert Allen Whisnant

ELLENBORO - Mr. Robert Allen Whisnant, 80, of 237 Autumn Circle, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Hospice House in Forest City.

A native of Decatur, Ga., he was a son of the late David Cletus and Girtha Robbins Whisnant. He was a retired employee of Pike Electric and National Textiles. Mr. Whisnant was a member of Walls Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Bridges Whisnant; three sons, Robert Allen Whisnant, Jr. of Shelby, Joseph David Whisnant and wife, Claudia Dale, of Ellenboro, Phillip Wayne Whisnant and wife, Roxanne, of Cookeville, Tenn.; one daughter, Lynn Parton and husband, Cecil of Bessemer City; two stepsons, Randy Bridges and wife, Donnis, of Shelby and Rick Bridges and wife, Cynthia, of Mooresboro; one stepdaughter, Patricia Stamper and husband, Joe, of Ellenboro; one sister, Adean Cobb of Ellenboro.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven step- great-grandchildren.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 3, at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home.

Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 3, 3 p.m. at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel
