Lemuel T. Whisnant Sr.

GASTONIA ? Lemuel Taylor "Tub" Whisnant Sr., 83, of Century Care of Gastonia, formerly of Gastonia Village, died Feb. 25, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late George T. Whisnant and Alphia Hedrick, worked in the paint and body repair industry, Navy veteran serving in World War II, attended Eastside Church of the Nazerene, former employee of Thomas Sales, Craig Dodge, G.G. Walker, retired from Henderson Volkswagon of Charlotte.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Debbie Thomas, Gastonia; sons, Lamar Whisnant, Dallas, Lemuel Whisnant Jr., Gastonia; sisters, Jeannette McDougal, Nadine W. Cole, Gastonia; brother, Arnold "Sam" Whisnant, Gastonia; special friend, Alisha Frye, Dallas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren

FUNERAL: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Eastside Church of the Nazerene, Revs. Albert Payne and Joe Bell
