Note*James Wylie Whisenhunt Wylie and his brother-in-law, Roe Gibbs, owned a sawmill, gristmill, and cotton gin at Gibbs, AR. Wylie died of consumption caused from the flour dust in his mill. His wife, Louaney, and her brother, Roe, ran the mill until her death. Louaney was killed when she fired up the mill too quickly and it blew up and killed her. The blast blew her fifty yards but did not kill Roe. Author's note: The preceding story was taken from Montgomery County Our Heritage, volume 1.

Milit-Beg*Doyle William Whisenhunt began military service on 18 May 1944 in AR U. S. Army enlistment. During World War II, Doyle served in the 7th. Army, 45th. Division, 157 Infantry, Company C. He was wounded in action in March 1945, while in battle on the Siegfried Line. Shortly after being wounded, he was discharged from the Army and returned home.
