Eugene Billington Whisenhunt Gene taught school in Louisiana and Colorado and served as president of the Caddo Parish Teachers Association in Shreveport, Louisiana. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1977. Before his death, Gene worked for the City of Fort Worth as a budget analyst for solid waste management. He also served as president and on the board of directors of the Lone Star Chapter of the Governmental Refuse Collection and Disposal Association.
