Note* | Peter B. Whisenhunt Information from Janice Gimlin, in an email on 02 Apr 2014 is a follows:
"Peter B. Whisenhunt b. 1842 in GA. This is Bailey Whisenhunt who married Mary Francis Rodgers. He died in TX in 1902. The is the legitimate son of Peter Whisenhunt and Mary Polly Bell."
She further stated in a letter on 03 Apr 2014 the following:
"Peter B Whisenhunt b 1842 fits right in with the rest of Peter & Mary Whisenhunt's children. My great aunt, Lucy Whisenhunt Poe was alive in the 1960s and I talked to her many times regarding the Whisenhunts. Bailey was her grandfather. She stated in a letter to me that Bailey's father was Peter Whisenhunt. For years I accepted the online info saying Bailey was Ples Adam's son, but I know this isn't true. Anyway, I understand you not wanting to change any info without proof. But, what proof do you have that he is an illegitimate son? I firmly believe he is the son of Peter and Mary Bell Whisenhunt".
Note: I leave this to future generations to decide what's correct. in April 2014. |
