Note*Dr. Whisnant was an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist. He began medical practice in Charlotte in 1901 and retired in 1944. He attended the Medical College of Pharmacy in Baltimore, and graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Philadelphia in 1893. He was a charter member of the Mecklenburg County Medical Society, founded in 1903, and a founder of the Charlotte Sanatorium, in 1907.
